Correct Defending Cooperation and Complex 5v5 Game

This soccer tactical game focuses on improving defending cooperation, supporting, shifting and closing down the deep passing channels. The soccer drill also emphasises practising the joining of the defenders or midfielders into attack after deep passes and helps to innervate attacking supporting runs.

Organisation

Cones are used to create an approximately 30x40 meters playing field.
Mark a defending zone in the middle of the pitch which splits the area into two zones. The defending zone is divided in 4 equal squares and 4 white defenders are located in each squares as shown. They are neutral players and always help the defending team.
A red and a blue team play against each other in the 5v5 game.
Players are arranged as shown, 3 defenders/midfielders are on the own half and 2 attackers are on the opponents's half.
When the ball leaves the pitch, the game continues from the goalkeepers.

Description and Graphics

After short combination play the 3 defenders must outplay their 2 opponents in a 3v2 situation. In the right time one of the 3 defenders can perform a deep pass to one of the 2 attackers through the defending zone or try to break into the opponent's half with a solo attack, winning a 1v1 situation against one of the white defenders.
In case an attacker is played by a deep pass, one player must join to the attack from depth. After the joining, a 3v3 situation works out in attack.
If a player breaks into the opponent's half by a solo attack, a 3v3 situation emerges normally.
The 4 white defenders try to close the passing directions by spreading in depth and they must keep the optimal distances in width and depth while moving, correct angle of supporting to close down of the deep passes. They are moving continuously, taking care of the situation of the ball. Of course they only move in the defending zone.
In case a player in possession initiate a solo attack and dribbles the ball into the defending zone, the defenders can try to tackle only in their own square, they can't support each other.
Only 1v1 situation can emerge.
