Competitive Finishing with Decision Making and Defending Anticipation

This soccer tactic game focuses on the correct solution of the 2v1 situations and the right supporting movements in the free space behind an opponent.
Besides, this soccer drill helps the players in possession to realize if there is a possibility to play a defender out by a 2v1 or they must beat him in a 1v1 situation.
In terms of defending the exercise emphasizes developing the defending anticipation and closing down the deep passing channels.

Organisation

Cones are used to create an approximately 30x70 meters playing field.
There's a smaller area in the middle of it, which divided into four equal squares.
Players are arranged as shown and they are identified with three different colours, since three teams take part in the exercise.
Two teams play against each other and the third team has a neutral roles.
The neutral players can support the attacker to be able to create a 2v1 or they must defend to intercept the ball or tackle in a 1v1. The roles depend on the situation.
They only move between the cones in both cases.
Players change positions in the teams continuously, the neutral roles are varied between the teams periodically.

Description and Graphics

Three teams participate in the tournament.
Two teams play against each other, the neutral team's players take part in the game as defenders or supporting players.
The neutral roles are changed between the teams after a determined actions.
The teams play for points. One goal is worth one point. If a defender scores a goal after intercepting the ball, his team gets two points.
The winner is the team, which has more points at the end of the exercise.

The two players in possession try to play their teammate supporting in the area behind the defender.
The defender is moving continuously in his square and he tries to intercept the ball by closing down the deep passing channels.
When the deep pass is performed successfully, the player receives the ball and he can dribble it out of the square on both sides. He can decide the direction.
Then he accelerates with the ball and plays out the defender (the first NP) by a deep pass with the help of the supporting player (the second NP), or beats the defender in a 1v1 situation.
After the action he shoots on goal.
At the moment when the player in possession leaves the area,  the defender turns, since he also gets a ball from one of his teammates. He receives it and dribbles out of his square in the opposite direction. Then he accelerates with the ball and plays out the defender (the first NP) by a deep pass with the help of the supporting player (the second NP), or beats the defender in a 1v1 situation.
After the action he shoots on goal.
If one of the Neutral Players in defending role intercepts the ball, the action ends.
