Passing and Dribbling Pattern with Direction Change
The aim of the exercise is to develop dribbling skills, passing accuracy, and combination play between players.
Special emphasis is placed on ball control while moving, body orientation when receiving and passing, and the correct timing of movements during the combination.
The exercise also improves players’ awareness while dribbling and their ability to change direction quickly after passing.
Organisation
- 3-3 players are positioned opposite each other at the starting points and 1-1 player are placed on the sides.
- A pole is placed in the centre of the area, serving as a reference point for the players to move or change direction around it.
- Small cones mark the starting points and the receiving and combination zones where players perform the passing combinations.
- Several balls are placed at the starting positions to ensure continuous rhythm and intensity throughout the exercise.
Description and Graphics
Players start the exercise by dribbling the ball from the starting positions toward the central area.
During the sequence, players receive passes, combine with teammates, and play quick combinations, while continuously adjusting their body orientation and movement.
The exercise is performed with two balls simultaneously, which increases the intensity and requires constant concentration and coordination between the players.
Throughout the drill, players perform dribbling actions, directional changes, ball control, and passing combinations, while rotating positions after each action to keep the exercise continuous.
Variations: 3
